History
of A. J. Monier & Co., Inc.
For
one hundred years, A. J. Monier & Co., Inc. has
served the San Antonio commercial service and
construction market with confidence, quality and
integrity. In 1908, A. J. Monier established the
business with high standards and competence. His son,
Kurt, a graduate mechanical engineer from Texas A & M
University, joined the company in 1935 and a tradition
of trust was established.
Three decades later, grandson William K. Monier, a
graduate industrial technologist from Texas A&M
University and also a journeyman plumber-fitter became a
member of the family-owned business. William K. Monier
followed in his father and grandfather’s footstep's to
become President and CEO in 1977. A. J. Monier &
Co., Inc. with its generations of service and effective
quality construction has proven to be a leader in the
performance of commercial, institutional and industrial
projects in San Antonio.
The original red brick
building circa 1922 still remains from the early days of
A. J. Monier -- a testament of not
only its strength but the strength of the company it has
housed for the last 90+ years. The company that August
Jacob Monier started behind his house on Culebra Road in
1908 now covers almost 20,000 square feet.
At A. J. Monier & Co., Inc. we take pride
in our work. In the 21st Century we are
constantly growing and changing, but one thing remains
the same, our dedication to our customers.
